United States: Democratic candidate for US president Bob F Kennedy Jr. on Thursday submitted documents and requested that the state of Arizona’s Secretary of State Adrian Fontes remove him from the ballots in Arizona, as reported by Reuters.

Removal from Arizona Ballot

The withdrawal is at a time when Kennedy is expected to speak to the nation on Friday in Arizona.

By Thursday, a super PAC backing Kennedy described his desire for an arrangement with Trump as a reciprocation of an endorsement for the GOP contender in exchange for a position in Trump’s proposed administration.

Possible Trump-Kennedy Alliance Emerges as Talks Surface

Trump informed CNN this week that he would “certainly be open” for Kennedy to participate in his administration in case the independent candidate withdraws his candidature and supports Trump.

Silent on Future Plans

Kennedy, his vice-presidential nominee Nicole Shanahan, and 11 from his team of presidential electors have tendered a voluntary resignation, Arizona’s Fontes said, in a statement.

Kennedy’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for an interview with the media.

Kennedy, 70, who is the son of the late Democratic politician and former US Attorney General, Robert F Kennedy, and nephew related to late President John F Kennedy, originally ran for the party’s nomination against Joe Biden, as reported by Reuters.
